I love Halloween! Halloween is one of my favourite times of year. You get to dress up, decorate everything, eat sweets and I like to think of it as the season of creativity. Everyone gets a chance to be creative at halloween whether dressing up or decorating their house.
Ever since a young age I always dressed up at Halloween and each year
I tried to make a better costume than the year before. It was always exciting for the whole month of October (and often the month before) I would be preparing every detail of my costume. I joke in my shows at Halloween that "I'm an adult now and I still dress up!".
So, over the last month I was performing magic shows and making Halloween balloon models at Dowhill Farm in Girvan.
They had an excellent family fun pumpklin picking event but it was so much more than just picking pumpkins! There was a sunflower maze, games, silly scarecrows, a play area pirate ship, super fast slides, a stilt-walking scarecrow, marshmallow toasting, my magic shows and balloon modelling, and so much more. Everyone I spoke too all said the same thing: it was a great day out.
I did loads of different types of Halloween balloon sculptures including spiders, witches, skeletons, aliens, frankenstein's monster, vampires and of course pumpkins! The balloon twisting was enjoyed by everyone. Everyone enjoys seeing it made in front of their eyes, watching my antics and hearing all the silly jokes I say too!
My magic shows for kids (also enjoyed by adults!) were a great hit. I did two different shows each day. The morning show was a family fun magic show and in the afternoon I did a Halloween magic show. Although though it was a children's halloween magic show I always like to think of my shows more as family shows as there is so much for the adults to enjoy too!
For the family Halloween magic show I created some of my own tricks and props just for the show. I love performing highly interactive magic that everyone can enjoy. My favourite trick in the whole show tells the story of a ghost who tried to steal some sweets! Of course this wasn't really scary but a funny routine which had everyone laughing and joining in. It was a very busy month for me! Not only was I performing the magic shows and doing balloon twistng I was also providing holiday park entertainment and performing at a farm park in Dumfries.
